The concept of “Cyberphysms: anatomy of physical and digital space” represents a fundamental approach to the artistic connection between traditional painting forms and the digital world. This exhibition series creates a new and unique perspective, different from other presentations.
The core of the concept is the study of the geometric abstractions of the painter Šimon Kučera (*1996) and his interest in the mutual relationship between the digital and physical environment. His abstract paintings, created by a combination of traditional painting techniques and digital tools, encourage the viewer to think about the connection and penetration of the digital space into the physical image. It strongly reflects the rapid changes in the technological landscape and the boundaries between physical and virtual space.
A selection of his abstract works is characterized by its geometric forms and structures. Kučera’s goal is to provoke questions and reflection regarding the interconnection of physical and virtual environments and to explore the impact of digital space on our everyday reality. When creating works, he applies an author’s technique that includes innovative procedures and materials that create an impressive aesthetic experience through the rendering of geometric forms.
The author calls these works “cyberphysms” or “material virtual spheres”. These Cyberphyses are further enriched with special wooden frames that emphasize the geometric nature of the works and symbolically connect the physical object with the digital space represented in the image. These frames guarantee a multisensory experience for the viewer and allow him to explore the boundaries between the physical and virtual spheres.
