SUMMER TAKEOVER – “VIRTUES” exhibition

About the Exhibition

This exposition came into being through the combination of two sectors – beauty and art. The first part consists of photography prints – four female portraits, with a subsequent touch of a sprayed word – attribute / virtue. The theme of the exhibition was created last year, during which the new space of GMBS Gallery was in the preparation stage, while the art industry and culture were experiencing dire times.

Since this period was rather difficult, it demanded great determination and practical use of all virtues herein displayed.

As a guest of the show, Albinus Grammar – the founder of GMBS Gallery – was invited to present his most recent art piece under the name ‘Balance, Baby’. In relation to the exhibit’s context, the topic of this painting may be explained as the perfect virtue we’d all wish to attain.

Artists and Production

The exhibition functions as an important element in Iritatör’s campaign for introducing a set of new products – four different types of Korean hydratational fruit beauty masks COOK PACK – to the Czech market.

The following models participated in the making of these works of art: Miss Cool Cat, Dominika Bártová, Süß, Jules.

Each of the models together with their individual characteristics represents a virtue pertinent to the particular beauty mask type.

The projection of products onto a specific personality might assist the visitor in picking the proper product variation so that the desired result is achieved.

The portraits originated in the Prague studio Odraz, and were captured by the photographer Roman Nguyen.

Make-up artist Petra Břeňková and hair stylist Hair By Leen collaborated on this special photoshoot.

Prints of respective photographs were completed at the Trenčín-based studio White Corner by the hand of a graphic designer and street-art artist Yasomfilip. Every portrait was finalized in two prototypal versions.

Location

You are welcome to come over and check out the display in two various places in Prague simultaneously, one of them being the previously mentioned GMBS Gallery at Jana Zajíce 24, P7 and the other LUQY studio at Arbesovo náměstí 3, P5.

The placement of artworks is in no way coincidental, both spaces have a very special meaning for Iritatör.

At the nail and hair design studio LUQY, Iritatör dedicates her time to cosmetic tattooing. She also figures as a manager at the GMBS Gallery. ‘VIRTUES’, the exhibition at hand, is the beginning of a union between gallery art, tattoo and beauty – thus the diverse fields of Iritatör’s activity.
